Expansion Plans

If you've hung around with Connections at all in the past few months, you know that these days we are increasingly pressed for space (we've tripled in size in the last year). The teens, the children, the small groups, our worship service: we have been welcoming more and more people into our community. So not too long ago we began looking for bigger digs. We asked, sought and knocked. We actually got pretty close to securing places more than once. But the doors always got shut on us. We knew God probably had a very good reason, but just hadn't clued us in on it yet.

Suddenly a space in the crossroads area (just 1.5 miles from where we are) became available. It is more than six times the size of our existing space! The price seems right (actually, it is more affordable than most places half its size) and most importantly it allows us to do what we at Connections are most passionate about -- connecting with and serving the community around us. Church to us isn't just about Sunday mornings. It is reaching and touching people as we live our lives 24/7.

We want to eventually create a faith-based community center to share with the people around us. In the years ahead we envision professionally-run classes and events for all ages, family film nights, language and computer arts services, home-school gathering spaces, track out opportunities for school-age kids, gathering areas for college and career-age adults, and more -- all in a safe, creative, community environment.

It will take a couple months for us to upfit the space for our needs and for code. We want to make it bright and beautiful and amazingly fun place to learn about God. We plan on moving over at the end of summer. God willing.
